Subject: Diamond C vs Load Trail or PJ

Southern Illinois
For those who have owned, pulled or been around any of the above brands of gooseneck trailers I need advice. I’m familiar with PJ and am comparing Diamond C and Load trail. There is a fair price difference in them comparing apples to apples. The Diamond C is higher but is 800-1000# lighter due to engineered beams, the bed is arched, and overall the build is a little bit cleaner and slicker. The load trail is just a standard trailer and the few little things I like with the diamond c it doesn’t have. There is about $1500 price difference roughly. I plan on ordering this speced out with disc brakes, hutch adjustable axles, 14 ply dual (interested in he 17.5 but not important for my short hauls 50 miles). My plan is for this trailer to last 15-20 years if not longer. My brain tells me to spend the money now to get the diamond c and move on, but my gut tells me a $17,500 trailer with ramps is crazy. It really needs to stop raining so we can finish farming and delivering seed so I won’t Have time to think about it.
