Subject: 6 row 3 point case 1200 scratch build start(pics)

Donnellson, IA. Makes saying here easier.
Put the bar in before the rain to start the planter project. And to install all the wiring and monitors in the cab. Then went though all my precision boxes so I could make the most of today with help. That's not common in my world so I'll take it when I can. Honestly a very blessed Dad as my helper has only technically been my daughter a month and 11 days, and in my life for a little over a year. She does amazing for a kid that grew up in the city and has no clue how a planter even works. And of course reminded me so much of everyone I've met when she said, "couldn't you just buy one that already worked?" So Bella got a 20 minute explanation of why I'm building this planter. For the rest I'll just type what the planter is.

The planter starts with the toolbar. It's not level because the top link is froze. And I didn't feel like fixing it when my gnuse hydraulic top link will be here monday. It is a AME toolbar with a t-bar design. This will allow me to move the row units without having ubolts to keep me from picking whatever row space I want. I have some projects and research that will use some different spacings. The vac blower is a precision unit. The bar is the vac chamber and the tubes are in the bar at each row. I really like how much that cleaned up the bar.

The arms got a bushing upgrade on the top set. I highly like the way that design looks. The bottom are deltaforce brackets and I just ran new bushings on them. Delta force top brackets were so much nicer to install with the plates off the planter. And easier to drill the third hole in them with the press.

Row units aren't anything special. Just an older 1200 unit. I welded up some wear on the pins the closing brackets hook on. And I stripped them down and will replace any components that need to be. Bought a few shims for press wheels and a few openers. Rows will get vset2 Meters and speed tubes along with weight sensors on each row. I don't run insecticide and can't in transition or organic but they will serve as variable weight boxes if need be. With a 1200 row unit a little extra weight won't hurt. It will give delta less to do on the downforce and maybe let it lift once and awhile instead of pushing up on the bar.

Misc....I have a set of LED lights for flashers and turns to add as I run along a major highway some. And I will fab up some jacks probably using the same t-bar concept so they are out of the way when not needed.

The planter probably won't be ran much faster than I did on any other without the speedtubes. But I'm hoping the spacing will allow me to plant my low(18-22k) and high(48-54k+) with the best possible stand. No not whole planter 54k but in strips where the outside rows are at that level of the prescriptions. Strip cropping is something I've wanted to try since my Uncle did it back in 93 and 94. He just didn't have the tech we do. Even me making 3 attribute population rx maps for a 6 row blows my mind. That's a whole other mid spring post.

The reason for all precision for me was just that now the only wiring and monitoring on it was one company and it kept the bar with minimal clutter on it. There will be more as I go. Thanks for looking.
