Sw. Ill | Talked to an electrician friend of mine that works at US steel. He said they offered him to work 24/7 or be laid off most likley. They are going to a skeleton shift and more hours per person. He would live there basically as I understand it. I guess this is how they are going to keep things running, operate with less workers, and rotate them if they get sick. hes tempted to do it because it's big money, triple time after 6 consecutive days.
He was already working a lot of 16 hour shifts due too a shortage of electricians.
Just thought it was interesting.
Anyone else have similar stories about other factories or refineries and how they are handling this crisis?
