My Goodyear dealer told me there was something like a 12 pound difference between a Goodyear he sells and a Goodyear that comes on a new truck. He says the manufacturers are specing tires from Goodyear (and others) for new trucks light weight so they get every mpg they can out of them.

Obion,TN | Go with the michelin they will be twice the ride and last longer. Save you money in the long run.

SO. IL. | I wouldn't touch the Michelin. They are good tires put the company is/was a pain to deal with if you had problems. Usually can't wear a Firestone out because they go out of round, slip a belt, and or throw the tread. I'd go with the uniroyals. I'm running 8ply hankook mt's that are load range D and love them.

Central IL | trade the oem's. Better to get at least something for them, they'll be shredded and worthless in short order on a work truck. Plus you get the frustration of changing a flat. I switched to load range E. However, I lived through the frustration of shredded tires and a flat first. Edited by IL_no_till 3/8/2009 22:20

Northeast Louisiana | I've run a good many sets of the Michelin LTX AT's and I really like them. Good ride and overall traction. Not cheap though, that's for sure.
2+2, MN |
| ||
New Ulm, MN | Ran transforce AT's on my powerstroke to 50,000 miles (well past the wear bars LOL) doing everything from town cruising to highway driving with Gooseneck, to Hauling corn to town in a gooseneck trailer. There a verygood tire.

NW TN, Dyersburg | In my opinion and experience, I say definitely buy the Michelins. They'll be the best and even the cheapest at the end, provided you inflate and rotate regularly.

Flora IL | Any of you guys use brigeston dueler AT Revo's..... me and several friends really like them...i know there not mud grips but its a great half road/off road... maybe is what you would call it..

South Central South Dakota | We run on lots gravel with lots and lots of rocks. The rock would eat the name brand tires up and we would have flat tires all the time. We went to Maxxis and Hercules 10 ply tires and get twice the mileage out of the tire and No more flats for us. I Have a VW Jetta that came with Michelins. I had at least one flat a week. switched to Hercules same ply 15,000 miles no flats.

South Plains of Texas | Get the Michelins! I can easily get 90000 miles out of a set and have very few flats. I won't run anything else on any of my familys cars, (well except the one my son in law drives LOL). JMHO

I use the Michelin LTX/AT, load range E (10 ply) on my 3/4 ton work pickup. If you buy a set, you will never go back to another brand tire.

C KS | I'd say they are as good as you'll find. I run them on my '07 Ford 250 on a lot of gravel and they have been wearing good.
