Eastern Washington | My John Deere 9530T has an oily film in coolant tank. Had the dealer change all fluids when I bought tractor and they never said anything about dirty coolant when it was changed. When I got the tractor and ran it awhile I noticed coolant was down and tank was black. Added coolant and kept going down a bit. Replaced the egr cooler, engine oil cooler, and water pump. Flushed cooling system multiple times after all this work was done. I’ve ran tractor another 50 hours and have had to add 2 gal of coolant. Oily film is showing back up again in coolant tank. I did an engine oil sample and it showed coolant in engine oil. I’ve cracked the engine oil drain plug after tractor has sat for some time and no visible coolant comes running out. I get drops of oil out of blow by tube and I’ve noticed that it has a white color to the oil now coming out of it. iI’ve talked with a few dealers and I get multiple answers. One says head gasket and possibly head if cracked. Other tells me could be liners and would need a new short block. Anyone have any advice? | |
