Subject: Deere 8760 axle removal

Ludington/Manistee MI area
My 8760 decided it didn’t want 8 tires on it so it got rid of 2. Called Deere dealer they said they could come out and do a turn key job but would rather not. Service manager said ( and makes sense) financially I’d be better off pulling the outer bell and putting it in my pickup and bringing it to them. He said 14 bolts around the bell flange and a couple to the frame and I’m good to go.

For those folks that done it how big of a bear is it? Keep in mind tractor is in the field.

EDITED TO ADD: Called a couple more dealerships the 3 guys I talked to all said to bring in the whole axle.
