A good friend of mine had his Kinze planter axle fail this spring in the typical “tear at the inner wheel support tube weld” fashion. He ended up buying an entire new axle weldment because of the damage.
Kinze knows this is a problem, hence why these bridge plates (part number G1K279) existed in the first place, but are no longer available. It just doesn’t seem right that this failure is so common, but Kinze won’t sell the reinforcement anymore.
For those with Kinze planters, would you be interested in purchasing these plates? If so, what price point would make them viable? I’m working to see if they would be economical to make while still being within what folks are willing to spend.
