S MN | Went from Minneapolis to Iowa City this weekend on highway 52 through Rochester then Highway 63 to Waterloo, 380 on to Iowa city. Overall I would say 15% of fields left to plant. Best corn was in a little sliver between Waterloo and Cedar Rapids. North of Waterloo it was pretty consistent 2" tall corn. Although it looked like there were big time stand problems because of hard pound rains causing washing outs, crusting. Saw several fields rotary hoed, should have been several more. Looked more like May 10th driving, not June 2.
Lots of yellow looing corn. Is there normally such a high rate of notill in that area? Or have you just not touched the fields yet? | |
