Just to clarify. I know nothing about john deeres. So late model 6420.cab/ Power quad/ left hand electric reverse. E an F range/ loader/ 4wd/ cable remotes. 6000 hrs. Bunk/tmr and dairy compost pack cultivating is wat it does. Very very easy going operator. Great care giver. It gets used, but very gentle. Forward started slipping few weeks ago. Getting worse. I said bring it over an we look at it . Guy was one of my better friends back in my younger days . So bend over backwards a bit for a friend . So it slips in forward in all power shifts the same. Slips much worse wen hot. Cold can almost stall it. Hot it wont evens drive. So pulled it out an opened forward. Everything looked good. The seal rings that are metal are just like new. The forward piston seal seemed smaller than piston but talked to a green whiz an he said thats kinda normal. I did put new seals on it an new seemed a bit better. Discs are with in a few thou of new ones. Put all back together an exact same results. We also switched the forward and reverse coil/solenoid bodies an prob stayed with forward. Reverse stalls it just bang dead. Is there a gasket somewhere in front cover that could have blown? The solenoids are at front of trans an clutch st back. Somewhere it passes to the back. Loose line? Blown oring? Any experience out there? Everyone around home says these never make forward clutch probs. No clue y but i always get stuck with the strange stuff! Extra excitement! Thanks guys
