South cental Ohio
Looking for some replacement tips for our greaseguns and want GOOD ones. Seems like the ones that we have don't work very long if at all. The tips can't be very big ( like the lock n lubes ect.) or they won't fit into some locations. What tips do you guys get and are happy with ????

Have a Claas tip on my electric grease gun. Never have to hold the tip on, in fact can be hard to get off. Diffently recommend one!

Near-north Ontario, French River
The univer locks on tight BUT you have to keep the tip clean, If any dirt or dust gets into the little balls on the end, it either won't lock or is difficult to get off. Great for greasing things that get regularly washed and clean but for something like a combine were there always seems to be dust and dirt around the grease zerks they turn into another headache to deal with.

We had one or those lock on it was no good any pressure on it and we could not get it off. Had to undo the hose to release the pressure to get it off.

Chebanse, IL.....

Where to buy these Alemites? Seems they're priced $10-15 EACH on either ebay or Amazon. That seems like a lot for one grease gun coupler that you will eventually destroy when it becomes locked on a fitting.

So....where's the best price?

Thanks

I use lock n lube ... Had excellent luck with them and they are rebuild able if ya happen to have one fail, I use them on all my cordless grease guns but once in a while you'll find a zerk that ya can't fit them on if it's in a deep recessed hole

The alemite ones are good. The Milwaukee tips you can buy in a two pack are just as good. Milton also makes a pretty good one.

I have the Lock and Lube on my powered grease gun and had the same problem with the end being too large for a scattering of fittings. I ended up taking two 6", 1/8"NPT nipples, connecting them with a coupler, adding a coupler on both ends with a grease fitting on one end and a grease gun end on the other. Now I can grease a fitting in a hole easily. I made one to keep at the shop and another to keep in the pickup. Simple, cheap, and works great.

I like the lock n lube but it would be nice if they had a smaller diameter one to go the recessed ones or I suppose you could make one out of a smaller diameter end with a zerk on the end of it to use like an adapter the best thing I like about them is you can release it when under pressure

I have a Lincoln lever lock coupler that is my "go to", have it on a Milwalkee 18v gun. It's the only coupler that I have found that works on metric & sae zerks. FWIW, metric zerks have a smaller ball tip. Have had a couple "lock n lubes" but they pale compared to the Lincoln. For tight places I have a rubber hose that has a zerk on one end & a regular 3 jaw coupler on the other that I put on the locking coupler. Not too particular about the 3 jaw as I don't use it that much but seem to have the best luck with Lincolns or NAPA brand.

You could also try a 4 jaw coupler but they are usually bigger than a 3 jaw.

I've spoken highly of the Claas tips on here before. I know I have a new one I the package in my tool box. If I can remember, I'll try and post the part number tomorrow. I keep an extra as they do fail eventually.

Claas # 01773860 is the part number for the grease coupler with a short whip hose. It has metric thread so you will need an adaptor for the standard 1/8" npt that is on most grease guns.

Lock-N-Lube works great for me except for a very few that the head is to big for the opening. Would never use anything else on my battery grease gun, lock on the tip and pump all you want without holding on and they do not leak grease out the sides.

Lock n lube, for hard to reach zerts they make a short hose with a coupler on one end and a zert on the other. No leaks and you can hang the gun from it if you'd like.

I disagree with others I guess. If a fitting won't take they are hard to get off, and then easily broken when applying a lot of pressure. I bought a LuMax from rural king for half price of the lock n lube and its 10x better imo. Still a few zerts I have to use a regular tip though and it is hard to get those to last.

The ones that Lincoln sells work great and are the best I have found. but they are the bigger style. It looks like also the style that Milwaukee is using since the one that is on my milwaukee gun looks just like them and has held up just as good.

Picked up a 3 pack of De-walt tips awhile back because they were a little slimmer- What pieces of junk.... but, what did I expect, it'd de-walt.

Not sure who makes them, but I have been getting pretty good service out of the John Deere HD couplers. They can be tough to get off a zerk under pressure until they get a little wear. So I usually leave the coupler threaded on a little loose, so if it gets stuck I can thread the tip off to relieve the pressure. Patrick
