Subject: Soybean harvest, how is it coming

Nw Iowa
Here beans will just about be history by tues or wed. A few replants will still be too wet. A little windy but otherwise exc combining weather. Beans not over drying, most 11.2-12.4. One small late planted field last night that we will try again today was at 14.5 . One short quarter left besides that is our worst beans and expectations very low. Don't know if we will even be able to get it all because of mud. Farm was hit with everything including floods , herb damage. We will back to corn on Monday but have some late small replanted patches that will have to sit another week before ready. Our 1.4 beans were a disaster ( looked good but absolutely no pop)but later beans that got sprayed with fungicide Were respectable. First year in along time that there was huge difference between early and late beans.
Kind of amazing with modern equipment how fast it goes. Our neighborhood had 90% of beans left Thursday. A few guys getting stuck but nothing like some wet years. Most guys are breathing a sigh of relief that it is going as well as it is. Lucky here, pods didn't open, and bean quality good.
