| A few years ago we replaced our oil fired hot water base board with geothermal. We love the ac but in the winter we are never quite warm enough and don't like the high electric bills that come with it. I'm considering an Enviro M55 pellet stove. The first dealer seemed knowledgeable and said it would be fine to burn 100% corn but said we were out of his service area so he couldn't sell us one. The closer dealer seemed less knowledgeable and said we would have to burn either 10% moisture corn or burn it mixed with 50% wood pellets. I can come up with 14.5% corn but don't intend to dry it to 10%. I'm also concerned with how much service these things take. I'd planned to have it professionally installed to satisfy my insurance company and local building codes but didn't expect it would need regular service if I cleaned it as required. Can anyone give me any insight on burning 100% corn and how much service these stoves require? | |
