South-central Nebraska | What do others use for insurance? I've been with Farmers Mutual for years but a couple years ago they switched to a 5% of system value deductible. I got burned on it this spring with some wind damage verses the $1000 deductible I had. But, from what I've checked, other companies premiums are often higher. So its a numbers game. Probability of storm damage verses premium costs. Farmers Mutual covers the entire system. The pivot is 5% and the other components are still at the $1000 deductible (panel, motor, underground, wiring, bridges etc.) all for one premium. Some companies make you itemize the components.
