Subject: Hay equipment make-over (pic heavy)

SC Wisconsin
I know pride is not a good attribute, but I am very happy with my updated hay equipment lineup so I thought no would share. First is my old setup from last year and the next is my new stuff on first crop this year. The first pic is of my case 930 with dad's old 489 Haybine. The rolls were shot and it was just getting tired.
Next pic is my 930 again with dad's 144 new Holland inverter. It did a great job being very gentle with the hay but was terrible slow and always seemed to be broke down or needed to be babied.
Last pic of the old setup is my 930 with the Gehl 1400 baler dad and Grandpa bought as a demo in 1976. It was one of the first round balers in the neighborhood and dad did a ton of custom work for a while. He told me he did 8,000 bales with it one summer and we even did several hundred a year until about 15 years ago when dad quit using hay in his steer ration. It made a nice tight bale yet and was a simple machine to work on, but we figured it had over 100,000 bales on it over the years.
Next pic is a new Holland 499 I bought in February from the second owner, he and the first owner claim to only have 50-60 acres of hay. It is in great shape yet so I believe them, but I only cut 10 acres with it and the drive pump went out. I posted on here looking for one and a neighbor saved the day for me an had a pump.
Next pic is still the old 930 case with a new new Holland procart 1225. Does an excellent job of cleaning up the field and is actually quite manuverable for being a 12 wheel. The only issue I had is that someone must have let a 15 year old put it together and a bunch of the fittings started leaking on it on the second field. I went through the whole thing and found a ton of loose fittings but it's been all good since then.
Last pic is of my case 1175 that has been tore apart for a couple years.it cracked a valve guide and it was just one of those things that I ordered the parts and just never got around to it. Hooked to it is my new Kuhn 3190. It has a rotor and knives in it and it flat eats hay and makes rock hard bales. The only issue I had with it was that after taking this picture I was walking back to get in the tractor and found a pickup tooth from the old baler sticking out of the baler tire I kid you not ON THE FIRST BALE! Luckily it was only sticking in a on of he lugs about 3/8 of an inch and did not puncture. I only run about 30 acres of hay, some sorghum sudangrass baleage as a second crop after wheat sometimes, and about 500 bales of straw and stalks so I hope this setup will last a while. I know it is a bit Overkill but I work 3rd shift 50+ hours per week and raise 180ish steers from bottles to fats so I need stuff to work and work fast when I can find a window to do hay. Sorry for the novel.
