Wisconsin | Has anyone had problems with the stamped steel covers over the track drive motors getting bent? I had to take a track off our 329D to get replaced and noticed something must have gotten pulled up and wedged between the inside of the track and the cover which bent it allowing the track to actually rub a hole in the steel. The other side was the same way and I ended up having to walk the track off the sprocket to get the cover off to work on it. We bought this machine used, so I have no idea if this happened while we owned it, or the previous owner.
We straightened the covers out and strengthened them to hopefully prevent this from happening again as there are some hydraulic and electrical lines under the shield that could get damaged if the shield bends down. Either it was a fluke that these bent, or these shields aren't built heavy enough to protect the drive motors.
