Subject: Question for those familiar with EC readings.

Nunn CO
Hello all,
Neighbor let me borrow a EC meter from him last week, pretty neat tool. I'm having a hard time finding out how consistent these numbers should be through the aerobic zone. I dug a hole about 10 inches deep. Top inch readings were in the low 100's, by the time I got down to 10" readings were in the low 500's. Is this normal or do I need to stir my soil deep? It is incredibly rare I chisel that deep. Is it leading to problems?

Thanks
