Subject: Mercury vapor light

Illinois

I am having issues with a Mercury vapor light and am wondering if I can direct wire to the terminals and skip the eye on top. I would just run it off the breaker for now. This is on a bin so it would only be used a few times and I down want to put a new fixture on if I can avoid it. thanks Greg
