Columbus, TX | Bought my first combine last year. Used it to help another farmer cut his rice. Had a friend of mine operating it while I was working that day. He was unloading the rice and sheared a bolt. Had to drill out the old sheared bolt and put another one in. I guess with a full grain tank and trying to turn on the unloading auger it sheared again. Did this for a while and finally got it all empty. Had another combine finish up the rice.
So this being said, I am getting everything read to harvest my corn. I've got a new shear bolt in but I'm just wondering if there was some other reason that the bolt sheared off in the first place. Just trying to avoid heading to the field, starting harvest and the bolt shears again. I'm very new to combines, in fact I don't know much at all. Any input is appreciated. Thanks
Sorry forgot to add it was the bolt on the sprocket
