NW KS | We just bought a sp30 to put on our cr9060 and we are having some feeding troubles. we are in VERY uneven wheat (west end got hailed almost 100% and east end has very little). today was a TERRIBLE day to cut. it rained 0.10 this morning, but the sun and wind allowed us to sneak into the field about 3. we put on a new sp30 head and tried to get things set so we can cruise tomorrow. problem was it wouldnt feed for crap. we tried adjusting the timing of the fingers on the header drum so they released at about 7 oclock into the back of the feeder. then we pulled the header drum a little closer to the combine drum. problem is this cr9060 has the small feederhouse. so it seems like when the crop is thick it wants to ball or roll over the header drum and not feed, then the whole system plugs up.
anyone experience this? was running around 3.0 mph in 70 bushel straw. again, it was pretty tough. not a good cut day. maybe it will be better tomorrow?
