Idaho | Had to reseal hyd cyl with the internal snap ring gland retainer. Had a hard time getting the internal snap ring end up and out so we could begin turning the gland. Built a spanner wrench. That and the hot wrench plus a slide hammer vise grip got things rotating and removed. Turns out the retaining ring is common square key stock a bit over one foot long. Welded two pieces together and reassembled. Had excess hanging out and cut it off two inches too long on purpose so if there is a "next time" that end is readably accessible. Also cleaned and sealed with silicone so it won't get full of soil and water. | |
