NW Wisconsin | I round bale most of my hay dry for my beef. I got a pretty good deal on 35 acres of standing hay that supposedly had the alfalfa thinned out. Once I got out there mowing I discovered it is still 1/3 to 1/2 alfalfa. Over the years I've noticed that there seems to be hardly any leaves left in the bales if its clover or alfalfa. Do round balers beat the leaves off more than other balers? What is the best way to retain more leaves when baling dry, no acid, no wrapping? | |
