Subject: Case IH 8230 cleaning fan

Southern Illinois
Am I the only one with this problem? Going over machine before wheat harvest and found my fan bearings were a bit loose so I decided to replace them. Got the lock collar and the outer flange off and could pull the bearing off by hand. The inside of the bearing does not fit the shaft running through fan. Therefore it has worked on the shaft and gives the same affect as if the bearing had spun on shaft which maybe it has but don't think so. Think it has just worked back and forth from fit not right and wore down that spot on shaft Got the opposite side apart and it is the same way. Bearings aren't out but have wore shaft down. New part of shaft where no bearing has been also too small with old bearing. Checked new shaft and bearing and same fit. Don't really want to spend $1k on a new shaft/bearings that don't match and are sure to do same thing. Any ideas?
