Northwest Ohio | Thinking about making a switch to a 2008 1990 ccs this year from a 455 min till drill. 455 is a 35 foot on 7.5 inches and we are looking a 1990 ccs 40 foot on 10 inch spacing. As with the 455 we plan to run a scales with a pop. monitor. It does have a seed star monitor which they tell me will run off the armrest control on my tractor. In the past we have ran 1560 drills so I am familiar how the units work. My question is any info on how 1990 ccs owners like there air drills. pros or cons. I do understand that spacing on these drills are the same as a fluted feed drill.(controlled spill) Im not looking to go 15 inch to get an actual planter unit. With that said some people say that the spacing on an air drill is worse than a fluted feed with larger gaps? Any info on these air drill is much appreciated. Always like to talk to growers using the equipment to have a better understanding on the machinery. We have been extremely satisfied with the 455 drill but trying to cut down on some tillage work ahead of the drill to be able to plant bean. We do plan on running a Great Plains Turbo Max ahead of the air seeder. Thanks. | |
