Central NE | Question for all those much smarter than me - How are you separating your dryland and irrigated yields in the same field during harvest? I ask because when we plant a couple fields, we leave a buffer between our dry and irrigated so we know which acres and yields to count towards Federal Crop. I've heard of guys picking the dryland corners first, switching the yield monitor, and then going back and doing the irrigated. Last year in the combine we would just switch the variety when we drove between the two sections, but that isn't perfect either.
I was wondering this year if I should set up a multi-hybrid subscription (i.e. Variety 1 in the irrigated and Variety 2 in the dryland) and then let Variety Locator in the 2630 do it's job when we go to combining. I plant with a 20/20 and most likely will be picking with the 20/20 next year as well. Any tips? | |
