Subject: Versatile 160 Good...Bad?

Kindersley Sk.
I've been looking for a small loader tractor to replace my poor old IH400 that has been on death watch since the 1970s. I've been leaning toward a 30Hp Kubota that is loaded w/cab, hydro trans, etc. The owner hasn't given me a price yet though. Then a old Versatile 160 Bi-directional showed up at the local dealer recently. It has less than 3000 hours, 3pt hitch, loader. Every thing I want except a larger cab (it's smaller than a fighter jet cockpit;-( )

I've heard many good things about Kubotas, but have never had anything to do with Bi-directional tractors. Are these older Versatiles reliable, are parts available for them? Are there certain things to look for when buying? What are your thoughts?

The tractor will be used for general loader work, tilling/rototilling around the yard, mowing sloughs, powering an auger and blowing snow.

Not the actual tractor, I just thought I'd throw this picture in to show what I'm talking about.
