Centralia, MO | While investigating some alternate fertilizers for next year I got to wondering about how the crop insurance people would view some of these things so I called my agent and asked. After checking with the insurance company, he called me today to say they were very aware that a lot of different things were likely to happen next year including no or low rate fertilizer and would be carefully looking at low production claims and denying such claims which they found failed to meet generally recognized good farming practices. So if crop insurance is important to you for cash flow choose carefully. Alternate fertilizers had better have provable fertility or otherwise be generally recognized. | |
