I didn't see the second picture at first but when I saw it, it was exactly how I imagined it while looking at the first picture. Sorry for your trouble but I think you'll like a flatbed. I have a Hillsboro Aluminum bed. Mine is on an F350 but I think I'd be looking at aluminum on a half ton. One really nice advantage of a flatbed is you can set a big Montezuma box and an air compressor on the left side so your tools are right there when you get out and the bed is wide enough (even in a single rear wheel) that you can set a four wheeler on the right side. With that in mind, if I were to do it again I would make sure the bed I purchased did not have any taper on the rear edge so ATV ramps would work well when offset to the right. Saronville NE | I had a flatbed on a 97 Chevy 1500. I liked it and got along good with it. Sold the pu, kept the flatbed and just put the flatbed on my dads 2500 00 dodge Cummins.

Far North Idaho | 1466 does that pickup run? It looks to nice to part out. I have been trying to find that exact pickup to use for a farm truck, but here they are either trash/rust bucket or they want $ 7-8000 for one in that kind of shape.

Kind of hate to do it but the highboy will be a nice truck also . Edited by 1466driver 12/3/2016 11:01

Put an aluminum flatbed on it you wont regret it. If you back up to loading docks get tapered rear corners if not don't. Always wanted one, then got one and I doubt I ever have a farm truck without now. Really good if you buy a new pickup when you go to trade it off put the box back on it and the dealership will think you took care of it because the paint will still be in the bed. They will have no idea you beat the hell out of it.
