Recently pattern tiled some farm land that my dad owns. We want to do a long-term lease so I can get a ROI (10+ years) w/ purchase option. What are some of the different ways to go about figuring the rent for the land? We have been doing 3 year contracts up to this point. Attorney is drawing up the rental agreement, and presented us with a boatload of information. Want to know some of the stuff that has been working for others and fair way to figure rent. Uncertainty of crop prices really makes this interesting.
