west central ill | Just lost my father in law who has been feeding standing corn to his cows for years. AS with all things there are pros and cons. One that always concerned me was the issue of winter thaws. The ears were still eaten, with little loss, but the leaves and upper stalks experienced a significant loss. He would make that up by grinding stalk bales and a little wdg. My Q . During the thaws I'm thinking of pulling them and feeding corn silage. Does fermentation of the silage affect rumen enough to cause a problem? | |
