Southern Indiana | Currently run a dc132 and I am not satisfied. Ive done everything in the book to make it mow 1st cutting grass hay that yields 2.75-3.75 tons per acre at 8% moisture. It wraps around the drop shafts, unevenly feeds crimper rolls, twists off shafts in cutter bar and goes through slip clutches like candy. Nobody can make it mow and everyone that had one around here has traded them off. I have lost all interest in making it work because I've tried that for 4 years with no luck.
Question 1: What is the best mower without worrying about price? Have access to Agco, Macdon, John Deere, and Claas.
Question 2: In grass hay only (we get 2-3 cuttings per year) what is the benefit of steel on steel, steel on rubber, double rubber or flail conditioning.
Would like to stay around 13' and pull it with 200 hp tractor. | |
