The Raymond Ranch | We just got the oil tanks filled on our new oil rack so I guess that means its done! It was a much needed upgrade, we do about 20 oil changes on our trucks a year, not to mention the tractors, choppers and vehicles.
We built it with two 250 gallon tanks for engine and hydraulic oil, and a 50 gallon tank for DEF in the middle. There's two hose reels and pumps for engine and hydraulic as well as spring loaded valves above the drain pan to fill jugs and cans. We went with spring loaded valves because it never fails, that someone leaves a valve open and walks away for "just a second". We put the rack right in front of our drive over pit, to make it more convenient when changing oil on trucks, and we are going to enforce doing all oil changes in that corner of the shop.
I built the rolling drain pan based off the one that NAT member fox128 built a while ago. I built it 44" long and put rolling caster wheels on the end of it, so it can roll on the rails on the edge of our pit. I put together an air pressure regulator and a cam lock discharge hose that goes directly to a IBC. No more leaks or spilled oil anywhere. Two of our truck drivers have used it already in the pit and they loved it. No more manhandling the 14" tall section of 55 gal. drum that we were using as a drain pan.
