Has anyone priced or installed a large steel building lately, 100x200. Non-insulated 18-20' tall? Thanks

150x200. 16' eve height set on 12" thick 8' concrete wall. 10" thick floor and one 60'x24' bi fold door. $23sq/ft turn key. That was 8 mos ago. I'd guess they are cheaper now

10" concrete floor? Why so thick? For $700,000 that is insulated isn't it?

We have to pour piers. There is already a floor there. This is replacing a old lean too on a cattle barn. Just need a roof.

No insulation. Grain/fertilizer/lime storage building using a large wheel loader to empty it was reason for thick floor. Didn't go this route, building a bin instead.

..I have to tell you...I don't think I would ever consider a steel framed building for fertilizer storage...AND then put machinery in it too. Every time you stir that fertilizer...or load the building, you'll end up with fertilizer dust in the air. I can't imagine the amount of corrosion it would cause.

what kind of bin? We are wanting to build dry fertilizer storage and like the bin concept better but are afraid of the fert setting up, so considering flat storage also.

Putting up a Brock Everest bin for grain. We have a flat storage building dedicated to fertilizer. We had all the steel hot dipped in galvanize prior to erection. The building we were looking at putting up would have primarily been for grain and equipment storage and occasionally short term lime or fertilizer(urea).

This fall we finished construction of a new 100x200 building.
We originally wanted to go with steel construction. The deal breaker for us was the expense of the concrete and tie rods. Best price we got on steel was $275,000 including concrete, delivery and putting in lt up. The foundation had to be very extensive with a building that wide.
We went with a wood construction FBI building. It was $160,000 with every thing included. We also put concrete perma columns so that the wood is 6 inches above the floor level. So far we are very happy with it.
