Boone Co. Iowa | I see that the trade has oats up about 7 cents, they are currently trading at $2.07, so about a 4% jump. I was thinking about the phrase "oats know."
And, then looking at volume, it looks extremely low (comparatively), I was just wondering if someone could tell me how many contracts trade on the CBOT in an average day. Looks to me like it might be between 200 to 1000+ contracts in a day. Just wondered if that is correct.
Final thought is, since lots of oats are grown north of the border, I would think that the price for oats would be cheaper, as U.S. dollar is so much stronger than Canadian dollar at this point. But they are obviously trading higher. And, it looks like it broke below $2 on Friday, closed at $1.99, maybe that is kind of a good price to be buying oats?
Nice to see green on the screen.
