Finished 1 field of haylage yesterday and now are getting ready for corn silage. Takes about 15 or 20 minutes to get the unloader to the top while I hold a rope that keeps it from spinning.

That is the only field of 4th we are going to get this year Josh, and it will be corn next year. Normally like to be done with hay by the 1st of September or close.

We had a winch fail one time, brother was at the top said only had a foot to go when we heard a click then a whole bunch of clicks till it hit bottom, he said the dust stayed for a little bit when it fell, kinda like in the cartoons, was t much left of the unloader:(. Silo guy said it was because we used a hyd motor on it, we still use it but much slower

I use a old craftsmen drill. Gets boring just standing there holding it and cord has been wrapped around drill a time or two as its a click on click of drill if you dont have a good grip when you start it.
