Holland, Indiana (SW IN) | Have a Cat 65B (7500 hrs) owned it about 6 months-so no don't know much-about it or anything else for that matter-pulling a 12yd (Holcomb) no dolly wheels pan- building lakes-so working at times on side hills. Tracks are about slick - the guide lugs (on the inside the tracks) appear to be in good shape-rest of UC looks OK to me- it looks like the tensioners have room to keep the tracks tight?
My brother has been running it (his lake) so my facts on how this happened are sketchy- know this: track came off to the inside, pan was empty, on a hillside, I think turning don't know up hill or down.
My questions: are the tensioner springs weak or broke up-had some broke up on an old D4 so I know they will break can't see inside the tensioner assembly so don't know -my brother said drivers will spin inside the tracks when he drives through water probably normal ? Rest of under carriage looks OK to me -I know something about steel track machines but have never had tracks come off- as stated know very little about rubber tracks- what else could it be.
Or is this not that abnormal for this machine-just don't operate or turn on slopes? This problem is not a fluke has happened 2X . 1 time on each side so probably not side related.
Probably will not be able to answer any questions for a couple hrs, putting a track back on darn it's hot out there.
Any help or comments appreciated.
TIA Dan Loehr
