Douglass Kansas | Have a couple of fields that I want to plant to sunflowers in wheat stubble. The latest that I have planted is the 21st of July and they were the some of the best that I have ever raised. The variety that I have is Mycogen 8H499 (oilseed) which looks like a mid season variety. Just rained around 1.5" at the field so it will be at least 6 days before it is dry enough to plant.
Has anyone planted later? and what where the results?
Should I get a shorter season variety?
I was thinking that I would plant as late as the 30th.
