To day was Christmas in July. A new chopper was delivered. Big changes with this new model. I know almost nothing about this machine because my nephews will not let any "old people" near the new stuff. Fell free to ask questions and someone who knows what is going on will answer.

And check out the OEM chrome stack. That will get you an extra 10 tons per hour.

I heard they are the chopper to own! Looks like a Claas in a different shade of green. Sweet machine!

Our custom harvester already has theirs nicknamed the "John Claas" They seem to like it so far. Two in the area that I know of so far but thinking a big outfit that does the chopping for Milksource might get their feet wet with one.

Just for the heck of it here is a video. https://www.facebook.com/adam.hagel.5/videos/839427959486165/

Where in Va are you? I would love to see it in person. Custom cutter? Does it have the intermeshing rollers in the kp?

I'm one of the nephews that fuelfarmer is talking about. We are 20 min. southeast of Harrisonburg. And yes we cut for quite a few neighbors. Machine does NOT have KernelStar processor.

RCI makes an combine head adapter and last I heard there are recutter knives available for the cutterhead, no recutter screen. Deere was still doing some testing for earlage last fall when we were shopping around. Earlage is pretty much unheard of in Europe.

They are nice machines. I think it was a mistake to keep the same style cutterhead. Chop quality on our new Claas 950 is a lot better than it was on the 7350.

Gerard I think after you run this new deere you might dissappionted with your claas chop quality ;) These machines run the angled knife setup that the large machines only used to have. The cut quality has been hugely improved. HAve had only had little seat time running a 8400i, but it's got lots of people excited, even a few of the other green kind. Very impressive so far..

Give them some time. I'm sure people will start to be disappointed in them :) . But seriously let them get a year or two on them before we start saying they are better than Claas. They had some ground to make up.

I thought I'd sit back and watch a little to see how deep it got around here, but Ok I'll jump in. First thing - as ajrod said, sounds like sv 960 and me both have out dated user names. You at least to a certain extent. I think we're both willing to put up with that, your gonna like the 10 row. And to you guys who what to see it run, your welcome to come look and ride. If your serious about wanting to, just let me know some how to figure out where and when. One Kernal Star, I was going to go that route but they made my mind up when they pulled the code after I ordered. I still could have got one if I really wanted one, however it made me reconsider and the short story is, for my application I think I'll be happier with the normal rolls. Also the other day I was giving Fuelfarmer a lesson in our 6195R with gen 4 command center and he wondered where 'mission control' was. No not really on that, but I did let him get pretty close. ;) Oh yeah, the chrome stack was tossed in by my dealer, it was on my list of codes to be skipped and he said nope. Thanks to him I'll feel a lot better as I grind the corn. ;)

Sv 7750 I'm guessing ur coming from a 77 to 8600?
Sv 960 also running a 8000seriee this year ? There are a couple running around here since first cut. So far so good. It's a big change so like to see how reliability goes. I do wish they had designed the large screen into the command arm like they've done with the 7R last year

Yes, 7750 to 8600, no sv960 is jumping to a 970 but probably will still be running a 960 some as well. The command center doesn't bother me. I will have enough stuff over there on the rail to be in the way as it is. Most of the stuff I look at more will be run thru the 2630.

Have not run it yet. Hope to cut a little hay this week if weather allows, however this crop probably won't hold the cutter down. I have seen and run a 8500 just a little in corn but not an 86. I reallly want to see what it will do, but will have to wait for the corn to get here. Planting started late this spring, so I doubt we'll start very early but who knows. I'm giving harvest lab a second chance on this machine, my thoughts from a couple years ago are too involved to type out here, but I might dig up a thread from a while back if I can find it.

Here it is, this was a couple years ago and there have been some changes, and also I'm going into it this time with I guess you would say, different expectations . I'll try to report back when I have some time and tons on it.

We do NOT do any cutting on your side of the 'bump' you'll have to take a short journey our way to see this machine run! The processor is just the standard Deere.

Who? Our custom harvester upgraded from a 7580 so they never had a Claas (not sure where the Claas nickname actually came in but you never know with those guys lol) Not sure about Van de loo, I think he has about 6 Jaguar 980's right now. If he likes the Deere I think he would stay split and run half an half maybe? He had JD about 10 or so years ago but switched for some reason. Dealer stepped up their service in the past couple years so hard to say what Van de loo would do.
