King City, Mo | I was told by the health dept to not bring my kid in for immunizations on wic days. I told them my wife does the holding kids for shots deal as I'm a wienie and she needs to bring them in when she has a day off work and can't use a vacation day for it. So the working person has to rework thier schedule....... Kinda like sitting on the floor of Walmart with $15 dollars worth of baby food coupons and trying to make the plan on how your going threw the line as you can only use so many coupons each trip threw the line and two girls come up look at ya like your stupid and then one tells the other get the higher priced stuff it's better ane wic will, pay for it just like they did for my kid. Sorry but that's my rant. It gets old writing checks to health insurance for $194/month per kid plus your own and then the ins doesn't even pay the dr anything outta pocket when you take your kid in but you do.

West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12 | http://www.mayoclinic.org/patient-visitor-guide/minnesota/billing-i... Frequently asked questions about Medicare billing Does Mayo Clinic accept Medicare assignment? Medicare has two billing parts. Medicare Part A covers inpatient hospital services. Medicare Part B covers clinic services, doctor fees and outpatient hospital services. Mayo Clinic is a nonparticipating provider in the Medicare program and doesn't accept assignment on claims submitted to Medicare Part B except: •Where the law requires Mayo Clinic to do so •In the case of documented financial hardship •When the supplemental insurance is a contract payer •When you reside in the state of Minnesota Mayo Clinic files claims to Medicare Part A and Part B on your behalf. When claims are sent to Medicare on a nonassigned basis, the benefits for the services are sent directly to you. The law doesn't require health care providers to accept Medicare's approved amount as payment in full, and providers are entitled to bill you for the difference between their billed amount and Medicare's approved amount. Mayo Clinic limits its charges according to the limits set forth by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for the Medicare program. You're responsible for payment of all billed charges, including those that exceed Medicare's approved amount. What is the billing process for Mayo Clinic services? Mayo Clinic is a nonparticipating provider in the Medicare program. If you live outside Minnesota, Medicare will send payment and a Medicare Summary Notice (MSN) to you directly. Mayo Clinic also receives a copy of the MSN and will file claims to your supplemental insurance on your behalf. Claims processing often takes four to eight weeks. Checks received from Medicare should be deposited into your personal bank account, and a personal check for the full amount due should be returned to Mayo Clinic in the envelope provided in your Monthly Statement of Account. These checks may also be endorsed — write "Pay to Mayo Clinic Only" on the back and sign your name — and sent to Mayo Clinic. What is the billing process for Mayo Clinic Hospital services? Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus, and Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus, participate in the Medicare program. If you're hospitalized at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus, or Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus, Mayo Clinic files your Part A (hospital inpatient) and Part B (hospital outpatient) claims to Medicare for you. Medicare payments will be sent directly to the hospital. You'll receive a Medicare Summary Notice from Medicare when it processes your claim. Payment for Part B claims may be sent directly to you and should be forwarded to Mayo Clinic. If you have supplemental hospital insurance, Mayo Clinic will file the claim for you. Does Mayo Clinic do Medicare crossover? No, Mayo Clinic isn't involved in Medicare crossover to supplemental insurance. You need to contact Medicare and your supplemental insurance carrier to inquire if crossover is possible and to sign up if required. How do I file my supplemental insurance after Medicare pays? Mayo Clinic will file claims to your supplemental insurance if you don't have a crossover established between Medicare and your supplemental insurance. Your supplemental insurance may make payment to you directly. Insurance payments can be deposited into a personal bank account, and a personal check for the full amount can be forwarded to Mayo Clinic in the envelope provided in your Monthly Statement of Account. You could move to MN. Edited by CMN 2/11/2015 09:15

West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12 | The Mayo sends you a bill of $200.00 for a $100.00 procedure, Medicare and your supplemental health ins. sends you checks directly totaling $100.00 to pay for that $100.00 procedure after 4 to 8 weeks, you then write a check to the Mayo for $200.00 to pay for that $100.00 procedure or they will come take the farm. The short answer is the Mayo and many other healthcare providers charge way more than what Medicare, most health insurance, and people like you and me are able to afford. It's what's wrong with healthcare in the US.

We are considering going there So after reading this talked to Hospital and our insurance. As you know there is part a &b.. A for hospital. B outpatient. They will accept part a in full. B has different charges. Mayo's will submit for a and b. We have plan f, it covers "overages" In our case will be paid between The two, but I may need to do Some paperwork. If you have an "advantage plan" That is totally different. While cheaper on the front Look out if you Really need to use it. It is private insurance co. That Medicare gives money to the co and the company makes Money by "manage you" Some states have started to ban Them. If in doubt. Call may and your Insurance. Good luck

Nwmo | I would have to double check but dad had back surgery there and basically as cmn says medicare pays you then you pay the bill. He was really worried about medicare not paying on time and not paying as much as the hospital charged, however after the bills started coming in I think he was pretty well covered and he has started going back for other issues he has had. I'll have to ask him tomorrow, but I remember right after he got serious about going up he read the same thing and decided he was going to have to pay for it out of pocket and just about didn't go at all until he looked into it more.
