![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=19421&type=profile&rnd=394) Moingona Iowa | I live sw of farm progress show in Boone co. Good soils 79-87 csr..
I took a walk in a few fields, I knew yellowing in middle to late summer along with firing of some of the corn
wasn't good. I found cob rot in one field, mold in most all numbers of corn. stalk rot in one number pretty bad and a little in other fields.
The ears had tip back and were small around, 12-16, one number had 16-20..
The kernel depth was shallow on all the corn I pulled, and that is what surprised me the most with all the moisture for fill...
I asked the person from cps, who was with me on some, if this is isolated. No. They said a few were better and most were worse. Altho their test plot is excellent.
What I thought was easy 200+ corn in June and July went south... I am thinking 160 plus.
This was grid and firt accordingly with 230 lbs of N. No grass or weeds.
