Watrous, Saskatchewan | Having trouble with the fuel solenoid on my 8.3 Cummins in my Freightliner FL80. Have to manually open it up for engine to start but will hold open to run and will also close when key is turned off. Had it off about 18 months ago and cleaned it up and has been good since. Took it off again to clean it but didn't help this time. Found some posts on the internet how to test to make sure power is getting through to the solenoid so will check that today and also a possible relay problem. Called Freightliner and they want $600 for this part which is absolute robbery. Also wondering if the solenoid on the 5.9 Cummins in the Dodge trucks have the same solenoid. Gotta be a cheaper option out there. Anybody with some advice would be greatly appreciated. | |
