| Something smells in the canola market and wonder if the high wheat
prices are the same. We can't sell canola into the cash market this
year. You must have a priced deferred delivery contract before you
can delivery any canola. I sign one two months ago at about 2 dollar
less than spot today and can't get any idea on delivery. It was for
January delivery. Talked to a neighbor the other day that priced in Oct.
for November delivery and he is still waiting.
Other day on a market comments I heard the statement that wheat price
is due to the fact that companies can't get delivery of the grain.
I kind of remember a story ,maybe ten year back in the US, where Cargill
had hold of a bunch of contracts and was slowing farmer delivery to
increase the prices. | |
