Subject: Deere 8300 corner post display question

Baldwin City, KS
I noticed that the corner post digital display on our 8300 doesn't illuminate when the lights are on. Is there a dimmer switch that might be turned down or a blown fuse? The lights are fine on the right side console. Thanks

The dimmer isn't just for that display so I don't know if that's it or not, look at your keypad on the right side panel, it's drawn out which two buttons you push for dimmer + and dimmer -. In the same way you have to push 2 buttons to get the voltmeter.

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
On my Deere 8120 the backlights on the cornerpost seemed to be out. The parts guy said it took five. Well, yes and no. There were 5 bulbs there but one is for the Exclamation sign and another for the Stop sign. Those two were working. The other three lights light up the center to show the gear selected. By chance I removed and replaced the bottom one first. All three center lights then worked. This puzzled me as I was not expecting the other two to come on. As a Test I replaced the new bulb with the original and all three lights went out. I then put in the new one again and all three work.

I concluded that the three bulbs are wired in series like old Christmas tree lights. I talked to a Tech afterwards and he said No they are wired in parallel. Anyway by using only one bulb I got the lights to work. The bulbs came in paks of three so I returned the one pak but still have two spares for the future.
