SE IL | What is everyone doing when they keep adding new tractors/sprayers/combines to their farms? We have 3 tractors that we need very good accuracy in, that we use simultaneously. One is currently RTK, one CenterPoint RTX, and another is on WAAS but we want to upgrade this, maybe to RTK. We currently pay $2500 in subscription fees but if we add the WAAS-only tractor, that would increase to around $4000/year in subscription fees.
We can't get on a free VRS or CORS network. There is nothing in our area. So, should we invest a large amount upfront and install our own RTK network? I'm also not really excited about the idea of using Cellular RTK in our tractors. That seems like another subscription cost for the data plans. Thoughts?
