They discourage me from getting concrete for driveway. Local place says it has wire in it and will cause flats. Can't believe they can't use a magnet to get it out or something. YMMV

Last I bought was $320 for 20-22 ton load of new crushed concrete. Local ready mix plant takes all the extra concrete from a job back to the plant and crushes it. It's good stuff with no wire because it's new. Concrete co. gets paid twice for the same concrete. From what I've seen of steel in recycled concrete I wouldn't want it unless you were going to top it with something and there was no chance of a tire coming anywhere near it.

I bought a dump truck load of crushed concrete to set posts in. The rest of the pile sat for two years, when I started putting it on a driveway it had turned to almost all fines sitting in the pile so I don't think I will buy anymore for driveways.

My son bought a couple of loads for a new driveway where there had never been rock before. For that purpose it works well and is about $10 a ton cheaper than limestone. The largest pieces are almost as big as a baseball. Yes, you do find some wire in it.
