Subject: Deere 8410 Return & Case Drain for White 8824 Planter

Iowa
We bought a White 8824 planter which requires hydraulic remotes for the Singulation blowers / hydraulic drive and CFS Tank blower.

The CFS requires a case drain line so that the oil goes directly back into the reservoir. Our 8410 doesn't appear to have this. Do I need Deere part number RE222721 to do this correctly so there is zero pressure on the return line? I was told we could plug it into the dual motor return couplers we do have...is this correct?

Also am wondering if the right side of the remotes / couplers is the pressure and the left is for returns if you choose to go through the SCVs. (We won't use the SCVs for the CFS drain line, but wondering for all the other return lines)

Thanks in advance.

On my Agco tractors I put my pressure hose on the left remote which require me to have my lever in the lower position. The reason being is that I can immediately go to float when shutting the fan off. Always go directly to float when powering down or you can damage the motor or fan because of it stopping too fast. Going to float will allow you fan to coast to a stop.

Thanks Slivershoes...I was told by the dealer that we wouldn't need to put it in float when powering it off so that is good to know. We always did that on our Deere planter so won't be anything new. Thanks Tom for the case drain info...will use that diagram this afternoon. Have a good spring.

I would also get the extension (p/n RE248312). I just put a case drain on our 8410 and the port that you hook to is so far up under the scv bank that you can hardly reach it. The plug i took out said sump beside it. Case drain is the lower hose in pic. I haven't put the extension on yet, it should bring it out the same as the other coupler you see there (motor return).
