WY, OK | 20% coupons aren't eligible on boxes any more, still good boxes at the sale price. Around $350 for the lower and I want to say around $250 for a top.

Wi | Craftsman is too much money for what you get. I had a US general like the one above before getting my snap-on box and it is a great box. It is too shallow, but for the money it is a good deal. Lots of people seem to like the masterforce. For the size you are looking at and if 2k is your price cap, you can look on CL for used Mac,Snap-On, Cornwell or Matco boxes as well. Just be careful and make sure to check the model number before buying. All of those brands have their top of the line models and their cheaper models. The cheaper ones are not worth the name. I have been impressed with the Viper boxes but have never used one, just looked at one at the store and got one for my Fiance. (The Pink Toolbox, made by Viper). Things are built nice. I just hate drawer detents, but on cheaper boxes its usually the norm.

About the same situation as you, and thanks to some info I got on here, I got an Extreme tools top and bottom from strictlytoolboxes.com It seems to be good quality although still made in china. I would call it higher end chinese if that's possible. Good people to talk to and answered questions . I gave 1300 for a 41". Hope this helps.

N Illinois (I39 & US 30) | I would second taking a look at Menard's. I ordered a Craftsman to try to match my older ones and am extremely disappointed, and they don't seem to care.

Ohio | I have a Kobalt, Dad has a Homak, and my buddies have a masterforce. We are all pleased with what we have. I will agree that Craftsman isn't the quality products that they used to be.

Depends on your needs/wants. The Mac/Matco/Snap-On/Cornwall are in a class by themselves, both price and quality. They are the only ones I have, or would consider. If not in your price range or need, then look at something else, but be prepared to replace sometime if used heavily.

SE SD | This is the one I've got. http://www.harborfreight.com/56-inch-11-drawer-industrial-roller-ca... Have had it for a couple years, no problems, very satisfied. My nephew was working on his pickup in my shop a couple weeks ago using a lot of tools out of this box. He's a tech at the local Cat dealership where spending a small fortune on a tool box is a way of life. He said he thought it was a Snapon till he saw US general on it. Very good box for the money.

N.E. Iowa | 42 inch Masterforce at Menards is under $900. I have had one for 5 years and and have had no problems with it. They have deeper drawers than most boxes.

Dublin, MS | Ed, how did you put the words on your toolboxes?

Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning. | The box's handles are made from extruded aluminum that has a groove formed into the front side. HF includes a white plastic background strip and clear plastic strips that are cut to fit the grooves in the drawer handles. I used MS Word to type the labels and selected the font typeface and size that looked good to me and also fit inside the slots. Printed a sheet with all the labels and then cut strips with the labels. Slide the strips into the grooves with the white plastic behind the paper and the clear plastic to keep the words protected.
