Northeast Missouri | OK, I guess this isn't really Stock Talk-appropriate ...unless I tell you I'm going to have the logs sawn out for lumber for making feed bunks.
I just thought this tree was impressive--at least for here in Missouri--and some of you would like to see it. I hated to cut it down, but the top was dieing and I needed to get it while the wood was still decent (a lot will be firewood). I don't "know my oaks" well, so I'm not sure what oak species it is.
By the way, I counted about 95 rings, so it was a sapling around the time of WW I.
Oh, and that big looping circle you see behind me is a grape vine that was growing in the tree. I included another shot to show how big it was.
