Renville Minnesota | We have a 246C has 650 hours on it. Bought it with 300 on a little over a year ago.
Had 120 hours on the oil change and the engine oil plug decided to completely unscrew and drop out. Light went on, I shut er down hopefully in time. Checking oil before starting for the day is standard procedure.
Found out the oil pan is plastic with a metal insert where the plug goes. Cleaned mess, put new oil and new filter, ran for ten hours, dropped oil and filter, sent in sample. She's running fine, but watching it like a hawk...... Which I don't like.
Anyone ever have this happen? Really like the skid, really hate the idea of a plastic oil pan.
Do I dare put in an oversized plug from the auto stores? |
