Eastern Kansas | Bought a BJM feed mixer bed on an old 2-ton truck a couple weeks ago. Bed appears to be in very good shape for it's age (still has paint on the augers), however the truck doesn't run so I couldn't run the mixer. For that reason I think I picked it up pretty cheap.
Rather than finding a motor and going through the brakes on the truck, we're making it into a wagon. Already cut the cab off and in the process of welding up a hitch and pto. Now I know this may sound like a stupid question, but what RPM should we run it at? I'm not sure what RPM the truck would have ran it at, if we put it on a tractor with 540, should we run it at PTO speed or is that waaay to fast for a mixer bed?
Never been around a feed wagon, kinda excited about using it and wondering about things before we get it going! | |
