Casey IL. ( I -70 ) then south on rt.49
Defferant one's has asked about hay rings and I found this one at sibbly Il.

Like the tire idea. Dont like the size of the openings in the cone. Look kinda small for cows to get hay through. Tight wrapped bales would be impossible to get torn apart.  Take some horizontal rings out of the cone, and might be better.

Also like the tire idea it wouldnt rust out, but will it hold the weight of the bale?

I have slats on feeders 2" apart. Cows have no problems getting hay out of it.

Bro has two, only his have a floor in them, almost NO waste, but you have to clean them out once in a while, more often if junky hay.

I have one of those with the tire, mine was bought with some of the pipe removed to make feeding easier. They are high priced, but indestructible. If they set in foot deep manure all year, they don't rust away. I have two with the metal bottom, don't like them as well. When the one with the tire needs cleaning, just pick it up with the loader.
